Q. Why do you focus on German cars, particularly Mercedes?

A. First of all, its what we know! We believe that if you try to be all things to all people, you really don't do much for anybody.  By focusing on Mercedes and BMW's, we can offer a level of expertise that can add real value to our relationship.

Secondly, the premium reputation that these brands have earned is well deserved by their safety, technology, comfort and performance.   If we can help make their purchase more affordable, then they really become values.

Q. Why should I use your service rather than finding my next car on my own?

A. Chances are, you'll do well on your own!  But perhaps you could do a little better with some expert help!  With our help buying a new car, you might make a more considered choice about the model or its options, one that saves you money or increases your satisfaction in the long run. Or maybe we can help you shave a few more dollars off the purchase price through our connections and information resources.

Certainly, if you choose to purchase pre-owned, our intervention can make a huge impact in assuring that you get the right car.  There is a great financial reward these days in purchasing pre-owned,  but the are some serious dangers as well.  We'll make sure the car you get is the right one, in the right condition, and at the right price.

Q. Why should I consider a late-model pre-owned car?

A.  Right now, there is a perfect storm of conditions that make a second-hand car a better value that ever before.  For one, the glut of off-lease cars has driven the price of prime second-hand cars way down.  you can save often 30 to 40% off the sticker by having the other guy suffer that steep initial depreciation.

Secondly, cars are getting better every day but the technological and stylistic differences are getting fewer.  This means a well kept 3 or even 5 year old car still has enough life in it to take you as far as you'd care to go, with virtually all the important contemporary safety and convenience features.  Simply put, today's cars really can "go forever" and still be a dream to own.

Q.  How are you able to save me money?

A.  The car business is a greater state of flux today than at perhaps any point in its history.  That creates opportunity, which we will exploit to your advantage.

If you engage us in the purchase of a new car, our relationships with local retailers and our access to extensive industry information sources, keep us informed on the programs and incentives that affect sales prices.  Nonetheless, retail car sales are ALWAYS ultimately a negotiation.  Frankly, we are better negotiators that most of our clients, and that alone makes a substantial difference. Finally, our volume buying power allows us to us the Fleet Desk of many manufacturers and retailers, which may mean additional incentives that you as an individual cannot receive.

If you choose a late model pre-owned car, we will save you the traditional overhead of the retailer, which can add thousands to the price of a used car.  One visit to our facility in Alpharetta will convince you that we operate very close to the bone, cost-wise, and pass those savings on to you. However, we firmly believe that Pre-owned Certification is an important consumer protection, so we will duplicate the inspection and reconditioning of most manufacturer programs, but at our own labor and parts rate, which can save you 50% or more in these areas.

For the lowest overall cost, we recommend a older, pre-owned car.  However, while these 6 to 12-yea old cars can be great savings for the budget-minded, they can also be financial black holes if you get the wrong one.  We are extremely selective about the older cars we will carry and our pre-purchase inspection and certification program will assure you that the car you buy from us is safe, reliable, and ready-to-go.  Typically we charge no more than an individual might want for the same car, but you may save hundreds or even thousands in the long run by getting the right car.

Q. Aren't older cars, especially luxury cars, expensive for repairs?

A. There is no denying that a luxury car is more complex and sophisticated that the average automobile.  And as the saying goes; "More things means more things to break!" But it also means you are getting the safety and convenience technology in that 6 to 12 year old luxury car that may just be finding its way into a current average car, but at a huge investment savings.  In our studies, we have found two important things: 1) rarely does the cost of purchase and upkeep of THE RIGHT pre-owned car come eve close to the depreciation and finance expense of a new or newer car!  2) the cost of upkeep is influenced dramatically by the servicing agency; a repair that might cost a thousand dollars in a dealership can be done with similar quality parts for half that through us.  And in most cases, the price of parts, even for the top European brands is within 10 or 15% of what they are for cheaper Asian or domestic models.  In short, we can take most of the risk of buying used away by selling you THE RIGHT car and maintaining it inexpensively for you. Let us show you how we do it...

Q.  Who does your servicing?

A.  AOW is integrated with Specialty Repair, which is owned by John Brennan.  John has been in the independent Mercedes and BMW repair business for 30 years and has earned an extensive and loyal following of clients who know they can rely on him to keep their cars running safely and inexpensively.  He talks to you, not atyou, to make sure that the work he does for you is only that which is needed and wanted.  Like AOW, Specialty relies on client referrals to grow, so we treat every client like family, with deepest respect for their needs and budget.
