Forgive us for bragging, but after having bought, reconditioned, and resold well over 100 Land Rover Discovery 2's, we think we may have built our best ever in this instance. Of course, it helps immensely when you start with a LOW MILEAGE, WELL-KEPT, TOTALLY RUST-FREE Georgia truck like this one. The low mileage means the vehicle is exceptionally tight and strong, but unfortunately it couldn't stop the inevitable 4.6l engine failure (trust us, they ALL fail sooner or later!). So in Step #1, we installed one of our famed fully REMANUFACTURED ENGINE. These engines are not just rebuilt, but reengineered with all new TOP HAT LINERS in a CHEMICALLY SEALED BLOCK that has been LINE HONED and CENTERLINE DECKED. After installing new bearings, rings, lifters, oil pump, timing chain, and seals, we assemble with RECONDITIONED CYLINDER HEADS installed with ARP RACING STUDS to prevent head gasket failure way down the road. All said, these engines are STRONGER, TIGHTER, and MORE RELIABLE THAN NEW! Of course, to protect this major engine investment, we add all NEW HOSES, WATER PUMP, THERMOSTAT (185degree), RESERVOIR, BELT and TENSIONERS, COILS, PLUGS AND WIRES. This exceptional engine comes with a ONE-YEAR WORKMANSHIP GUARANTEE! The rest of this custom build was simply a matter of picking the best components and accessories. On the interior we added a unique BLACK HEADLINER to compliment the DUAL SUNROOF and a KENWOOD BLUETOOTH RECEIVER mated to upgraded JENSEN 6.5" COAXIAL speakers. A full compliment of original LR ALL-WEATHER MATS are included. The windows were newly tinted with UV-reflective 3M LIFETIME FILM, including the alpine window. Outside, almost everything except the sheet metal is NEW, from bumper to bumper. A LUCKY8 BULL BAR bumper up front, that is, and a Terrafirma steel rear bumper, both with 3/4 inch shackles with dampers. The bull bar bumper allows the steepest attack angle in the industry and yet hides the ultra-reliable SMITTYBILT 9500lb SYNTHETIC ROPE winch, nicely integrating it into a modified grille with cuton Hawse fairlead. The truck rides wonderfully on a Terrafirma 3" LIFT KIT. At the corners are 33" BFG KO2's mounted on blacked-out OEM 5-spoke 16" alloys with custom hubcaps riding on 30mm Terrafirma WHEEL SPACERS attached to new brake rotors and pads. The spacers create and aggressively wider stance by nearly 3 inches. We then added Terrafirma EXTENDED WHEEL ARCHES to bring the tires back inside the body line. A Terrafirma steering damper keeps the truck on line. Off the back, a fifth KO2 is mounted with the LUCKY8 RELOCATION KIT. Protecting the body is a pair of Terrafirma ROCK SLIDERS with tree-bars. New OEM METAL TAILLIGHT GUARDS are ultra-protective. On the hood is a G4 style BLACKOUT DECAL in 3M 7-year material. A fully functional SAFARI SNORKEL, properly installed with sealed a intake, insures a clean, dry air intake in severe conditions. Also out back is a "big tube" VOYAGER ladder that matches the monster VOYAGER OUTLANDER roof rack with heavy-duty mounts. Plenty of off-road lighting is added: SIX 7" 51w LED driving lights up front, operated battery direct with 2 switches, mounted on House Tuning tube clamps with new stainless steel hardware. All joints are soldered and heat-shrinked. At the rear are 2 11" 50w LIGHT BARS are activated anytime by a switch inside the back door. Hanging from the roof rack are anew 48" 3-ton Hi-lift jack and a new Razorback axe and matching shovel. A full breakdown of the price of all these modifications is available.
