2004 Land Rover Discovery HSE

We built this truck for a client who had a special, specific request; "Make it just the way it was when it left the factory". Hmm. Seems easy enough, but it does present unique challenges that require we start with the "right" truck. And indeed we did: a super clean SC truck in nearly flawless Chawton White original paint - no accidents, no rust! And in rare 7-passenger HSE trim with the even rarer rear AC unit. From that terrific start we massaged those things that showed thier age - bleached brittle plastic trim, scruffy leather, dull washed out wheels, pockmarked wheel arches - into a like-new appearance. Most importantly thou, we updated the engine to a "better than new" condition by installing a remanufactured crate engine blueprinted with "top-hat" liners, ARP head studs, and fully reconditioned rotating parts. With the new support ancillaries it recieved: OEM coolant hoses, an Airtex premium water pump, new belt and rollers, tank, and cap, new coils, 8mm wires, and OE Champion plugs - this new powerplant should easily go much further with less grief than any original engine could. We also opted, with the owner's consent, to a few other upgrades that modernized the truck without altering its essential orginality - upsized (30.5") AT tires, bright, safe LED headlight and foglight bulbs, and a contemporary 9" touchscreen radio unit that features wireless Apple Carplay, loads of entertainment options, and a super sharp back-up camera. All in all, a wonderful blend of the original with the modern: still iconic but much more practical than "when it left the factory".
